Question,can anyone?

Question,
Can anyone name Obama's running mate? ( of course I could google it) It just strikes me funny the tremendous amount media coverage directed towards Mrs. Palin. I feel the media is looking for a way to set her up and record, report, and/or critique her potential or past failures.
On the flip side this monopoly of news coverage could potentially act as an excellent form of "subliminal messaging" inundating us with nothing but Palin, could leave a bunch of us in a trance when we walk in to the voting booth and out of habit, because of the consist bombardment of Mrs. Palin's name may cause an instinctive reaction to check the yes box on the McCain and Palin ticket.

Share an Experience

Today I went to Boyd County Middle School for the first time as part of my Morehead State classes we spent the day at Boyd and the BETA club gave us a tour, and we talked with the Principal and several teachers in all facets of school operations. I have never been to Boyd County Middle, and I highly recommend that you visit it, I was so impressed that I set up my Student teaching assignments and observation to be done at that school. One of the classes we observed was a drama class, and in that class there were 4 special needs students whom blended right in and fully participated. The whole class was practicing a dance routine. At first I was fixated on the special needs students to see how they would perform, by the time the routine was complete I caught myself in amazed shock to how well they performed and how much they were accepted by their fellow students. I started to watch the teacher and I could see she was swimming in a sea of love of her students and job. It is experiences like this that makes me want to teach more and more each day. And on certain days when I think maybe I should just concentrate more on my present job and cut back on the amount of classes (7) and increase hours at work cause money is getting tight or we are having sitter troubles, or time to study takes away from my family time. I picture myself walking into the classroom and saying good morning class, and hearing "GOOD MORNING MR. MILLER" And this makes me want to take 10 classes a semester to finish quicker

Opening weekend!

My favorite time of the year is upon us, that's right, it is time for some football. I am huge sports fan with football being my favorite of all sports. Having been raised in New York my loyalty is to The Giants, Yankees, and NJ (soon to be NY) Nets. having lived in Kentucky for the past 6 years I see I am starting to bleed blue when it comes to college sports...Go Wildcats.

although it is opening weekend for the NFL, this weekend is special for other reasons, this Sunday my daughter Emma turns 1, I can't believe it. She is getting so big, so fast. Can't they just stay little forever?LOL. It was last year at this time that I was getting ready to take an exam in Professor Hosto's World Geography class when my wife called an said that her doctor was admitting her because she is showing signs of starting labor. And being 7 weeks early doctor James was going to try and prolong delivery as long as possible to give baby Emma extra time to grow and gain strength in her lungs and immune system. They postponed the inevitable by 4 days and that Friday our sweet angel was delivered to us free of any complications her lungs were fully matured, there was no irregular heart rhythms, or apnea. Emma still had to spend 10 days in the NICU a nothing more then as a precaution. Although she was only 3lbs 7oz at birth she was and still is a healthy beautiful baby.

Hi

Hi,
This is the first blog I have ever setup so please bare with me while I navigate, explore, and edit to suit my personality.
I am currently a student at Morehead State University studying to become a teacher. I am 33 years old so I am kind of getting a late jump; however, this is a passion I have had ever since I was in high school. I will be teaching grades 5-9. For two very simple reasons: I love children and I feel that there is a serious absence of positive male role models for young adults.

The reasoning behind me starting a blog is 1) I receive extra-credit from my technology professor :) and I joined a listserv and have enjoyed the communication with other educators. So please feel free to post your concerns, advice, stories, news... No..you do not have to be a teacher or future teacher to post. I believe we are all teachers in our own right.
